Sketchbook

Here is a peek into my sketchbook lately...

September 2016: A lot of times I use my sketchbook to brainstorm.  Here are a bunch of sketchbook ideas that I will most likely never complete, because I got out what I needed from them before finishing.
August 2016: Here is a recent sketch that I did from a photo of my beautiful daughter.
August 2016:  After too long of an absence from this blog, and sadly also from creating art, I have started working again in my sketchbook and other pieces.  I am very happy to be back :)
August 2014: Over the past couple months I have been somewhat stressed out and so I took a more colorful and free approach to my sketchbook.  I used markers (my daughter's), rubber cement, and magazines :)

August 2014:  I haven't had as much time to produce art lately, but here are a few sketchbook studies.

February 2014: A lot of my sketchbook has been in response to an Illinois road trip we took a few months ago.

10-16-2013:  I bought my daughter a shirt with a hot air balloon on it, and want to draw them ever since.

These pages from my sketchbook are responses to moving from China to Illinois, and having a baby girl :)
